34th TISFF announces int’l fiction lineup

The selection committee of the 34th edition of the Tehran International Short Film Festival (TISFF) has selected 29 titles to compete at the international fiction section.

The festival’s official website recently announced the titles, from among some 6000 films submitted to the festival, in fiction competition list where works from some 20 countries will compete.

‘No Gift’ by Lucie Fichot from France, ‘I Have a Brother’ by Maxim Kuznetsov from Russia, ‘The Children Will Come’ by Ana Jakimska from Macedonia, ‘Ruah by Markus Kaatsch from Switzerland, ‘Território by Iris Junges from Brazil, ‘Cold Fish’ by David Hay from New Zealand, ‘Advertentie (Advertisement) by Timur Ismailov from the Netherlands, and ‘Van Egy Határ’ (Operation Stone) by Barnabas Toth from Hungary are in the lineup.

The list goes on with ‘Milk’ by Hanna Mironenko-Usikova from Russia, ‘Trip’ by Izumi Gautier from France, ‘Limbo’ by Konstantina Kotzamani from Greece, ‘Farul’ by Ionut Gaga from Romania, ‘Bus Story’ by Jorge Yúdice from Spain, ‘Clothes’ by Vesselin Boydev from Bulgaria, ‘Andro’ by Tornike Gogrichiani from Georgia, ‘Ce Qui Demeure’ by Anne-Lise Morin from Belgium, and ‘Lost Face’ by Sean Meehan from Canada.

The lineup also includes ‘Adaptation’ by Bartosz Kruhlik, ‘16.03’ by Natalia Siwicka, Reservation’ by Witold “Korek” Bojanowski, ‘Evil Deeds’ by Piotr Domalewski, and ‘Lethargy’ by Sylwia Rosak, all from Poland.

‘Passengers’ by Simon Portus from Australia, ‘Young Fish’ by Chrisanthos Margonis from Greece, ‘The Woodpeckers Of Rotha’ by Bibhusan Basnet and Pooja Gurung from Nepal, ‘The Butterfly Dream’ by Sun Kim from South Korea, ‘The Red Case’ by Loran Perrin from France, ‘A Day’s Reunion’ by Zhen Yu Png from Singapore, and ‘Sheep Dotting Hillsides’ by Huaqing Jin from China are also among the selected films.

The event includes national competition, international competition and out of competition sections.

The 34th edition of the Tehran International Short Film Festival, to be directed by Seyyed-Sadeq Mousavi, is slated for October 17-22 in the Iranian capital city.

Organized by IYCS, affiliated to the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance and a member of International Short Film Conference, the festival is aimed to provide an opportunity for young filmmakers to exchange their experiences.
